Daniel 1:8-13
8 But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods.9 Now God had given the chief of staff both respect and affection for Daniel.10 But he responded, “I am afraid of my lord the king, who has ordered that you eat this food and wine. If you become pale and thin compared to the other youths your age, I am afraid the king will have me beheaded.”
11 Daniel spoke with the attendant who had been appointed by the chief of staff to look after Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.12 “Please test us for ten days on a diet of vegetables and water,” Daniel said.13 “At the end of the ten days, see how we look compared to the other young men who are eating the king’s food. Then make your decision in light of what you see.”

8 Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. 9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. 10 So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12 But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. 14 And the Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. 15 And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi: 16 for he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

Everything that has breath praises the Lord. We thank God for protecting us from unseen dangers. Several times the enemy tried to come against you, but the Lord God was your shield and shade -protecting you from unseen dangers. There is wholesomeness in thanksgiving.
When you stay in His word you will know him more and more and stay in his glory. God says – we will be favored in this land. Don’t go by talk of recession and by news. God says- when there is a need, provision will be made.
Today’s word and meditation is from the life of Joseph – LIVE AN UNCOMPROMISED LIFE.
Joseph when he was tempted said – How can I sin against God. If you compromise on the word of God- there is no distinction between you and the world.
Proverbs 10:24
What the wicked man dreads will overtake him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.
The righteous person is the one who lives an uncompromised life on the word of God It means standing on and standing for the word of God, His life shines the Light of God and he is salt to the earth and never loses his flavor. When you stand up on God’s word and stand ofr God’s word , not being silent to talk and testify God’s goodness – you are leading an uncompromised life. There will be many haters when you stand up for God , but like Joseph you will be exalted.
Exodus 1:12:
But the more they oppressed them, the more they multiplied and spread so that the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites.
When affliction comes, know that it is your time of elevation and increase. You will grow to multiply and increase and will be fruitful. There is a lifting up.
We know the end of the story- Victory belongs to us.
Father God – help us to be wise in our dealings – help us to discern and act in wisdom and counsel. Help us to know who we are- our identity in Christ.
Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.
