Dear Beloved,

We thank God for this time of worship. This is the season of divine performance

Psalms 63:6-8

On my bed I remember you;     I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help,     I sing in the shadow of your wings.
I cling to you;     your right hand upholds me.

Isaiah 61:1

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,     because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives     and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]

Sermon – The next chapter

Your latter end shall be greater than the former

Job 42:10,12,13,16

10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.12 The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. 13 And he also had seven sons and three daughters. 16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation.

Esther 6:3

“What honor and recognition has Mordecai received for this?” the king asked. “Nothing has been done for him,” his attendants answered.

Mordecai was prominent in the palace; his reputation spread throughout the provinces, and he became more and more powerful.

Luke 8:26-28,30,32,35,39

26 They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes,[a] which is across the lake from Galilee. 27 When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torture me!”

30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “Legion,” he replied, because many demons had gone into him.

32 A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs, and he gave them permission. 35 and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.  39 “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

John 8:2-8

At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
